ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) – The Denver Broncos might have to face Peyton Manning with a pair of rookie cornerbacks next weekend.
Champ Bailey left the stadium on crutches with a right foot or ankle injury following Denver’s 31-14 win over Seattle on Sunday night, and Andre Goodman left in the second half with an injured right thigh.
Coach Josh McDaniels said Monday that Bailey didn’t have any broken bones and he’s hopeful both Bailey and Goodman will be able to play against Indianapolis on Sunday.
If they can’t, the Broncos would line up with rookie cornerbacks Perrish Cox, a fifth-round draft pick from Oklahoma State, and Cassius Vaughn, who went undrafted out of Mississippi. Cox had an interception Sunday and Vaughn recovered a muffed punt.
