CINCINNATI (AP) – The Ravens aren’t happy with a roughing-the-passer call that helped the Cincinnati Bengals get their go-ahead field goal.
Terrell Suggs was penalized for how he brought down Carson Palmer on a sack, giving Cincinnati a first down. The Bengals went on to get Mike Nugent’s fourth field goal, putting them ahead to stay in a 15-10 victory on Sunday.
Suggs wrapped his arms around Palmer and tackled him on his back. Referee Gene Steratore decided that he had driven Palmer into the ground, which is a 15-yard penalty.
Suggs says if it wasn’t a quarterback of Palmer’s status, it might not have been flagged. He says he’d make the tackle the same way again.
