ASHBURN, Va. (AP) – Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather has returned from his two-game suspension for a helmet-to-helmet hit.
Meriweather was back at his locker Monday morning, receiving warm greetings from his teammates.
He missed the first two games of the regular season for a hit in a preseason game. It’s the sixth time he’s been cited by the NFL for violating player safety rules.
The defense missed him. Backup Bacarri Rambo gave up big plays and continues to struggle with his tacking.
Asked if he’s changed his game so that he can avoid more suspensions, Meriweather said: ”I think I’ve changed it – I just have to do it a little bit more now.” He said he’ll have to ”go even lower” when he delivers a hit.
