CLEVELAND (AP) – Browns president Mike Holmgren said he has reached out to Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown, asking him to reconsider not attending this Sunday’s ring of honor ceremony.
Brown, the greatest player in team history, recently informed the Browns he would not take part in Sunday’s halftime ceremony when the Browns plan to induct their 16 Hall of Fame members as the initial class into their new ring of honor.
Holmgren said he and owner Randy Lerner have both sent letters to the 74-year-old Brown, who was unhappy at Holmgren’s decision to reduce his role as a senior adviser. Holmgren was hired by Lerner in December.
