SEATTLE (AP) -Wide receiver Deion Branch is inactive for the Seattle Seahawks in the season opener against the St. Louis.
The Rams said that No. 2 overall pick Jason Smith would start at right tackle ahead of Adam Goldberg.
Branch missed practice all week with a hamstring injury. Coach Jim Mora said on Friday that Branch would be a game-time decision. Since joining Seattle at the start of the 2007 season, Branch has been inactive in 15 of Seattle’s 51 games.
Branch missed six games for Seattle in 2007, including tearing his ACL in a playoff game against Green Bay. That injury lingered into 2008, where he missed eight games.
Branch again had knee surgery this offseason that caused him to miss most of the team’s offseason activities.
