SEATTLE (AP) – Rookie Seattle wide receiver Golden Tate was surprisingly inactive for Sunday’s season opener against San Francisco.
Tate had not been listed on any injury reports during the week, but Seattle instead went with Ben Obomanu as its fourth receiver.
Also inactive for Seattle was offensive tackle Chester Pitts, who is trying to come back from knee surgery. Pitts was listed as questionable. Tyler Polumbus, acquired from Detroit on Aug. 31, is starting at left tackle for the Seahawks. Rookie tight end Anthony McCoy was also out after being listed as probable with an ankle injury.
San Francisco inactives include offensive linemen Barry Sims, Eric Heitmann and Alex Boone.
