Of the teams that lost the Super Bowl over the last nine years, most didn’t make it back to the playoffs the following season.
The Colts insist this season will be different.
Yes, Indy can point to a long list of numbers in an attempt to dispel the year-after effect that has hit teams from the Rams and Patriots to the Raiders and Panthers.
A combination of injuries, fatigue and controversy has taken all of those teams down.
Colts coach Jim Caldwell spent the offseason researching what led those teams to struggle, and is trying to put together a game plan to make sure the Colts avoid them.
