ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -The Detroit Lions have set their roster with 53 players they hope can help them win a game for the first time since 2007.
Detroit released the following offensive players Saturday night: quarterback Brooks Bollinger, guard Milford Brown, tackle Lydon Murtha, center Dan Gerberry, tight ends Carson Butler and Dan Gronkowski, running backs Aveion Cason and Tristan Davis, and receivers Keary Colbert, Dane Looker and John Standeford.
Defensive players that were cut included: linebackers Rufus Alexander, Spenser Smith and Zack Follett, tackles Shaun Smith and Chuck Darby, end Sean Conover, and defensive backs Calvin Lowry, Ramzee Robinson and Stuart Schweigert.
Kicker Billy Cundiff also was let go.
