MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Quarterback John David Booty is among the final cuts for the Minnesota Vikings, leaving the team with Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels behind starter Brett Favre.
The Vikings announced their final roster Saturday. Booty was in his second season as a developmental quarterback out of USC. He does have practice squad eligibility, so the Vikings could bring him back if another team does not sign him.
Booty likely sealed his fate in the preseason finale on Friday night. He threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown, a poor throw that enfuriated coach Brad Childress.
Cornerback Marcus McCauley, running back Ian Johnson and defensive end Otis Grigsby were also among the 22 players cut by the Vikings.
