TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -Former starting tight end Leonard Pope and four-year Cardinals veteran safety Aaron Francisco were among 21 players cut by the Cardinals to reach the NFL’s 53-man limit.
Others cut by the team on Friday included offensive tackle Oliver Ross and cornerback Wilrey Fontenot.
Pope, a 6-foot-8 third-round draft pick out of Georgia in 2006, played in 42 games and started 25 in three seasons with the Cardinals, including eight last year. Francisco, a standout on special teams, played in 53 games over four seasons after making the club as an undrafted free agent in 2005.
