PITTSBURGH (AP) The Pittsburgh Steelers enter the final game of the regular season with only one real starting spot up for grabs.
Punters Brad Wing and Jordan Berry have been in a heated competition for the job over the last six months, with no clear favorite heading into Thursday night’s exhibition against Carolina.
Berry has a slightly better average through four games, though Wing has been more consistent. The fellow Australians have been working side by side since the offseason and both say they’re not sure which way the coaching staff will decide.
Wing was solid if not spectacular as a rookie, but experience often doesn’t count. The Steelers have used eight different punters since 2006.
