INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday has returned to practice and could be ready to play in the team’s season opener.
Saturday said he did some work during Tuesday’s practice at the team complex. At Peyton Manning’s annual bowling tournament, Saturday said the knee was healing and he could be ready to play against Houston on Sept. 12.
Saturday had arthroscopic surgery Aug. 20 to remove a “loose body.” The Colts haven’t said which knee Saturday hurt.
Saturday is a four-time Pro Bowler, the second-longest tenured Colt behind Manning, and has missed only six games since winning the starting job in 2000.
The bowling tournament raises money for the Peyback Foundation, the charity Manning founded.
