ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -The Denver Broncos released wide receiver Samie Parker and defensive tackle Josh Mallard in their first round of cuts on Monday.
Parker joined the team on April 15 after spending his first four seasons with Kansas City. He was one of three free agents brought in to bolster the receiving corps but he never displayed the deep-play ability the team was looking for.
Mallard, a fifth-year pro, played eight games with the Broncos last season after joining the team as a free agent on Nov. 6.
The Broncos also released receiver Lorne Sam, an undrafted free agent from Texas-El Paso.
