MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Brett Favre is trying to catch up with the Vikings as fast as he can.
His first game action with his new team was brief, limited to the first two series of Friday’s exhibition victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Favre completed only one pass in four attempts, but he said he was more concerned about not fumbling the snap or messing up the count.
With three weeks until the regular season opener, Favre has to get up to speed fast.
He’s not worried about calling the plays or learning the scheme, having run the same system during 16 years with the Green Bay Packers.
His priority instead is getting to know the tendencies and preferences of his receivers as the Vikings hustle to find a rhythm with their passing game.
