BEREA, Ohio (AP) -One drive. That’s all it took for Jake Delhomme to convince Cleveland Browns fans not to worry about their starting quarterback.
For the first time in ages, the Browns are not in the midst of a QB controversy and there isn’t one brewing after Delhomme’s impressive debut in Saturday night’s exhibition win at Green Bay. The 35-year-old completed 6 of 7 passes for 66 yards while leading the Browns on a game-opening touchdown drive.
Delhomme’s backup, Seneca Wallace, was equally appealing as he threw two TD passes.
Browns coach Eric Mangini says it’s comforting to finally have the position settled after a tumultuous season with Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn.
