OXNARD, Calif. (AP) – The Dallas Cowboys are coming home from training camp in California with even more questions about their shaky defense than when they left Texas three weeks ago.
Cornerback Morris Claiborne is out with a shoulder injury after missing the first preseason game with knee tendinitis. He skipped the final camp practice Thursday and was unlikely to play in the exhibition home opener Saturday night against Baltimore.
Orlando Scandrick will miss the first four games of the season after the cornerback was suspended for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
A revamped defensive line is far from settled, and it’s unclear who will replace Sean Lee at middle linebacker on the unit that allowed the most yards in the league last year.
