METAIRIE, La. (AP) -Defensive tackle Hollis Thomas, a starter for the New Orleans Saints for much of the past two seasons, has a right triceps injury that will sideline him about two months.
Saints coach Sean Payton said Thomas injured himself during drills in a practice Wednesday with the Houston Texans and then had surgery Thursday morning.
With Thomas out, Sedrick Ellis, the Saints’ first-round draft pick from Southern Cal, is expected to see more playing time.
