SAN DIEGO (AP) -The San Diego Chargers say their exhibition opener against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night will be blacked out on local TV.
The game wasn’t close to being a sellout by 72 hours prior to kickoff. The game will be blacked out within a 75-mile radius of the stadium.
The team said Wednesday that approximately 6,000 general-admission tickets remained unsold.
This is San Diego’s first exhibition blackout since 2006. The team warned that there could be regular-season blackouts. The last Chargers’ regular-season game that was blacked out was in 2004.
