PITTSBURGH (AP) – A western Pennsylvania borough attorney says his internal investigation of a police officer who was with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (RAWTH’-lihs-bur-gur) at a Georgia nightclub the night he was accused of sexual assault is inactive. He says that won’t change unless “new relevant information” surfaces.
Coraopolis (kohr-ee-AH’-poh-lus) solicitor Richard Start read a brief statement at the borough’s council meeting Wednesday. Start has reviewed a Georgia Bureau of Investigation report detailing the actions of Officer Anthony Barravecchio and Roethlisberger on March 5, when the quarterback was accused of sexually assaulting a college student at the club.
Roethlisberger denies the accusation. Prosecutors didn’t file charges.

Barravecchio wasn’t suspended or disciplined during the investigation. His attorney says he didn’t do anything illegal.
