ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Some nagging injuries will keep several Washington Redskins on the sideline when the team holds its intrasquad scrimmage Saturday.
Cornerback Carlos Rogers, receiver Santana Moss, receiver Devin Thomas, tackle Mike Williams and guard Randy Thomas have all been ruled out by coach Jim Zorn.
Last year the Redskins lost two players for the season on the first day of training camp, but so far most of this year’s ailments are considered minor. Coaches have expressed the most concern about Randy Thomas, who had knee and neck surgeries in the offseason.
Thomas is an integral part of the offensive line. Zorn says the 33-year-old guard will have to get extra rest during camp to make sure he’s ready for the start of the season.
