ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -The agent for Plaxico Burress had talks with the New York Giants on Tuesday about getting a new contact for the star wide receiver.
Giants general manager Jerry Reese said assistant general manager Kevin Abrams spoke with Drew Rosenhaus.
Rosenhaus was at practice Tuesday night at the University at Albany with his brother, Jason.
Drew Rosenhaus did not want to comment on the talks while at practice.
Walking off the field, Abrams said nothing had changed, but he stood outside the team locker room after practice talking with the Rosenhaus brothers.
Burress, who caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots and led New York in receiving and touchdown catches last season, has three years left on a contract that will play him $3.25 million this season.
Terrell Owens of Dallas and Randy Moss of the Patriots signed contracts this past year that will pay them $9 million annually.
Notes: An MRI on the left shoulder of New York Giants starting right guard Chris Snee revealed tendinitis, coach Tom Coughlin said Tuesday. Snee, who has started 48 consecutive regular-season games, missed practice on Monday because of a sore shoulder. He was on the field at the University at Albany during a walk-through on Tuesday morning.
