CINCINNATI (AP) -The Bengals have signed linebacker Keith Rivers out of Southern California, the club’s first-round draft pick and the ninth pick overall.
The team announced the signing Tuesday night and said Rivers would practice Wednesday morning in training camp at Georgetown College in Kentucky. Terms of the contract were not released.
Rivers has missed 12 practices due to contract negotiations, but coach Marvin Lewis says he’s confident he’ll catch up.
The 6-foot-2, 241-pound Rivers helped lead Southern California to a 47-5 record over four seasons.
Derrick Harvey, taken eighth overall by Jacksonville, is the only first-round draft choice still unsigned.
