RENTON, Wash. (AP) -The Seahawks have completed their sixth practice to begin training camp without top draft choice Russell Okung.
Seattle’s sixth-overall selection continued to be absent Tuesday from his spot as the replacement for retired All-Pro left tackle Walter Jones. He won’t be practicing Wednesday, either. The Seahawks have the day off.
Three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has plenty to gain by Okung signing – namely his health and protection of his blind side.
The former sixth-round pick says he cannot empathize with a young player who stays away because of contract demands. He felt like he should have been paying the Packers for his chance when Green Bay drafted him to back up Brett Favre in 1998.
