SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -The Carolina Panthers are facing injury concerns after one practice.
Starting defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu suffered an ankle injury and linebacker Jon Beason tweaked a hamstring Monday in the team’s opening training-camp workout.
Kemoeatu rolled his right ankle while running early in the practice and was carted to the locker room. Coach John Fox said he was to meet with doctors later Monday.
Beason later injured his left hamstring and watched the remainder of the workout with his upper leg wrapped.
The Panthers’ lack of depth at defensive tackle left undrafted rookie Marlon Favorite practicing in Kemoeatu’s spot with the starters.
Dan Connor worked at middle linebacker for Beason, the team’s top tackler last season.
