FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis has skipped a conditioning test hours before players are to report to training camp.
The All-Pro is in a contract dispute with the team, but he’s not considered a holdout unless he misses the afternoon team meeting that opens camp in Cortland, N.Y. The Jets confirmed Revis’ absence Sunday.
Revis is to make $1 million in the fourth year of his six-year rookie deal, but he wants to be the league’s highest-paid cornerback. Oakland’s Nnamdi Asomugha holds that distinction, signing a three-year, $45.3 million extension last offseason.
Also Sunday, the Jets’ fourth-round draft pick, running back Joe McKnight, passed a conditioning test that he initially failed.
