NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -The receiver drafted before Kenny Britt and the running back selected after the Rutgers receiver both have NFL contracts.
That isn’t enough to get the Tennessee Titans’ top draft pick onto the field for the team’s second practice.
Both Hakeem Nicks and Beanie Wells had contracts announced Saturday. Those deals weren’t reached in time to help Britt avoid missing a second straight practice to start training camp.
Coach Jeff Fisher had been hopeful Britt would be available Saturday.
General manager Mike Reinfeldt was on the field briefly before going back inside the team’s headquarters.
The Titans drafted Britt with the 30th pick overall to help boost their passing offense.
