SAN ANTONIO (AP) -Cowboys owner Jerry Jones describes rookie receiver Dez Bryant as being disappointed and bothered that he could miss the entire preseason.
Jones says Bryant has a “typical” high right ankle sprain that should heal completely without surgery, and he could be back on the short side of the anticipated recovery period of four to six weeks.
Bryant, who is expected to wear a protective boot on his foot, wasn’t on the field Saturday morning.
The first-round draft pick was hurt on the next-to-last play of practice Friday when he became entangled with a defensive back while trying to catch a pass.
Bryant’s absence pushes Patrick Crayton, the No. 3 receiver before Bryant was drafted, back up the depth chart.
