LATROBE, Pa. (AP) -First-round draft pick Maurkice Pouncey has agreed to a five-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers and isn’t expected to miss any training camp practices.
Pouncey, the No. 18 overall pick in the draft, played center at Florida and is likely to spend most of his Steelers career at that position. But he is expected to compete at right guard with Trai Essex and Ramon Foster during training camp.
Second-round pick Jason Worilds, an outside linebacker from Virginia Tech, signed his four-year contract on Friday and will take part in the Steelers’ first training camp practice Saturday.
The Steelers have not had a first-round pick miss any camp time since quarterback Ben Roethlisberger signed four days after workouts began in 2004.
