OXNARD, Calif. (AP) -Felix Jones was on the field for the Dallas Cowboys’ second practice Saturday, the first of training camp for the team’s highest draft pick.
The Cowboys came to terms on five-year deals late Friday night with both of their first-round picks: Jones, a running back from Arkansas, and cornerback Mike Jenkins from South Florida.
Jones arrived in California in time to take part in the afternoon practice on the second day of training camp. Jenkins was still en route from Florida, and once he arrives the Cowboys will have everybody in camp.
Jones was the 22nd overall pick in April. He is expected to complement Marion Barber with the Cowboys much as he did in college with Darren McFadden.
Jenkins, the 28th overall pick, is expected to compete for playing time at cornerback, where the Cowboys already have Anthony Henry, Terence Newman and Adam Jones.
