ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -Wide receiver Taylor Jacobs re-signed with the Denver Broncos on Saturday after tight end Edell Shepherd injured his knee.
Shepherd, a fifth-year player who joined the Broncos as a free agent in March, blew out his left knee on the first day of workouts Friday. He was placed on the team’s reserve/injured list.
Jacobs is a sixth-year pro who played in six games for the Broncos last season, catching three passes for 40 yards with one touchdown and five special teams tackles. He was released June 13.
