DAVIE, Fla. (AP) – The Miami Dolphins are off to a somewhat sloppy start in training camp.
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill dropped at least three snaps during the first practice Friday. The first time he threw long, he misfired deep to Mike Wallace – a frequent occurrence last year – but they later connected on a 40-yard throw that brought a cheer from spectators.
Tannehill predicted mistakes will be cleaned up quickly, and like all teams in July, the Dolphins are optimistic about their playoff chances. Owner Stephen Ross said anyone not expecting to make the playoffs shouldn’t be in the league.
As anticipated, center Mike Pouncey and running back Knowshon Moreno began camp on the physically unable to perform list. Both worked on the side Friday.
