BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -The Buffalo Bills have agreed to terms with defensive end Alex Carrington on a four-year contract.
Carrington, selected in the third round – No. 72 overall – of this year’s draft out of Arkansas State, is competing for a backup role on a revamped defense that is making the switch to the 3-4 system.
At 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds, Carrington was a four-year starter in college. He finished with 21 1/2 career sacks to rank second in school history and fourth in the Sun Belt Conference.
He was also the conference’s 2008 defensive player of the year.
The move announced Monday leaves the Bills with two unsigned draft picks: First-round selection, running back C.J. Spiller; and second-rounder, defensive tackle Torell Troup.
