ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -Lions general manager Martin Mayhew says he’s not making predictions about next season after the team set a dubious NFL record with two wins in two years.
Mayhew did say Friday that his team and organization are “much better” than they were two years ago.
Mayhew says he is optimistic about playmaking options on offense, including rookie running back Jahvid Best and tight end Tony Scheffler, a veteran added this offseason.
Mayhew says he’s does not think signing defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will be a “big issue” before training camp starts next month in part because negotiations are already going in the right direction.
Detroit wrapped up a three-day minicamp Friday.
