LAS VEGAS (AP) – A man accused of robbing and beating NFL player Javon Walker alleges Las Vegas police pressured his girlfriend to press charges in a domestic violence case before arresting him in the Walker case.
Arfat Fadel’s complaint was cut off by his newly appointed public defender and a Las Vegas justice of the peace, who advised him Wednesday not to talk about his case in open court.
The judge refused to reduce the 30-year-old Fadel’s $13,000 bail on felony kidnapping, coercion and misdemeanor domestic violence battery charges. He set a preliminary hearing for July 9.
Fadel is due again in court Thursday morning on multiple felonies including kidnapping, robbery, battery and conspiracy in Walker’s June 16 robbery and beating.
