FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -The New England Patriots on Wednesday re-signed free agent linebacker Eric Alexander and restricted free agent cornerback Randall Gay.
Gay, 24, spent most of the 2006 season on injured reserve. The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2004. He has 11 career starts with 50 tackles and two interceptions.
Alexander, 25, played in 14 regular-season games and all three playoff games last season, including his first career start in the AFC championship game loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The Patriots signed the 6-foot-2, 240-pound linebacker as a rookie free agent in 2004.
