FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – Robert Kraft made his first public remarks in eight days, but said nothing about the Patriots deflated footballs scandal.
The club owner spoke for 80 seconds Wednesday at a ceremony to introduce the team’s first-round draft choice. He and team president Jonathan Kraft stood on a platform on either side of defensive tackle Malcom Brown from Texas in the middle of Gillette Stadium.
The elder Kraft spoke only about Brown and past New England drafts. After posing for photos, both Krafts walked off the field without taking questions.
Brown said he hasn’t received advice in dealing with the media. The Wells Report commissioned by the NFL was issued May 6 and the league fined the Patriots $1 million and took away two draft picks and suspended Brady for four games on May 11.
