KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -Kansas City’s first offseason under Todd Haley was like a reality weight-loss show. The focus was on fat, not football.
This year, the Chiefs have bought into the coach’s fitness-first philosophy and can actually work on football-related exercises instead of just exercising.
Coming off a 4-12 season, Kansas City seems to be ahead of the strenuous pace set by Haley in his first season as coach. The players are in shape and everyone except safety Jarrad Page showed up for the team’s first organized team activities – even linebacker Mike Vrabel and guard Brian Waters.
The two veterans refused to participate in voluntary workouts last year, but showed up this year to show their support of Haley’s demanding ways.
