CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -The NFL is considering adding a second regular-season game overseas in time for the 2010 season.
Commissioner Roger Goodell says the success of the games at London’s Wembley Stadium the past two seasons has fueled the discussions. Goodell says Tuesday the second game would be held on a different weekend and could be held in London or another location in the United Kingdom.
The first two NFL regular-season games in London have produced sellout crowds. Fans have also gobbled up tickets quickly for this season’s New England-Tampa Bay game in London on Oct. 25.
However, some players have been critical of the overseas game because of the travel. One team also loses a home game in the arrangement.
