MIAMI (AP) -Undrafted offensive lineman J.D. Quinn has agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins after a brief career at Oklahoma that led to NCAA sanctions.
The agreement was confirmed Saturday by a person familiar with the deal. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Dolphins won’t announce the agreement until next week.
Quinn and quarterback Rhett Bomar were dismissed by the Sooners in 2006 after breaking NCAA rules by taking money for work they didn’t perform at a car dealership. The Sooners were forced to give up their eight wins in 2005, but an appeals committee restored them.
Quinn transferred to the University of Montana, where he was arrested in 2007 and in 2008 on drunken-driving charges.
