ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -The Buffalo Bills’ quarterback competition has begun with coach Chan Gailey spending a prominent amount of the team’s first minicamp keeping a close eye on Brian Brohm.
That, Gailey says, is to be expected because he intends to focus much of his attention on quarterbacks to determine which of the three contenders will earn the starting job. Brohm finished last season as Buffalo’s third-stringer after the team signed the 2008 second-round draft pick off of Green Bay’s practice squad.
He’s in a competition with Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick, who split the starting duties last season.
Brohm became the first to try out Gailey’s new offense on Friday in opening a three-day camp for players with less than two years experience.
