BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -Former Detroit Lions defensive end Robert Porcher has been sentenced to 50 hours of community service for an assault on his ex-wife.
Porcher also was given one year probation and ordered Monday to have no contact with Kimberly Porcher except through text messages or e-mail.
The 38-year-old plead no contest to the charge in the Bloomfield Township, Mich., court following his arrest in December on a misdemeanor assault and battery charge.
Porcher also is required to pay $960 in fines and court costs, and complete a domestic abuse program.
Court records show the couple divorced in 2006 and has three children. Porcher spent 13 seasons with the Lions.
A message left Monday afternoon seeking comment from Porcher’s attorney, Paul Rinaldi, was not answered.
