BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) – Tom Modrak is out as the Buffalo Bills chief scout, the team announced Wednesday.
General manager Buddy Nix says Modrak’s dismissal comes as part of the team’s plan to reorganize its personnel department. Modrak held the title of vice president of college scouting, and had been with the Bills since 2001.
The move comes after the Bills completed what was regarded as a successful draft last weekend, in which the team addressed its porous defense.
Modrak had been criticized for the team’s inconsistent drafting history in the past. However, he had the backing of team owner Ralph Wilson.
Modrak did not immediately return a message left with him.
