NEW YORK (AP) – Rex Ryan says he’s “certainly proud” of his upcoming book, a no-holds-barred look at the New York Jets coach’s life on and off the football field.
Ryan started a media tour Monday to promote, “Play Like You Mean It,” which includes a guest spot on the “Late Show With David Letterman” later in the day as well as book signings and other television and radio appearances during the week. He says he never could have imagined himself as an author while growing up with dyslexia.
He tells The Associated Press he wish he could have changed two words in the 280-page book, which is out Tuesday: Using “phony” to describe former Jet Vernon Gholston, and “distraction” to characterize the Inez Sainz locker room situation from last season.
