ASHBURN, Va. (AP) The Washington Redskins enter the final day of the NFL draft hoping to fill one more need on the defensive line.
They selected TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson in the first round, USC hybrid linebacker/safety Su’a Cravens in the second round and Virginia Tech cornerback Kendall Fuller in the third round. Adding Cravens and Fuller should help the 28th-ranked defense, but the defensive line looked like the team’s most glaring need.
Coach Jay Gruden says he’s comfortable with depth but at the position would like to draft a defensive lineman with one of five picks in rounds 4 through 7. Washington has the 120th, 158th, 187th, 232nd and 242nd picks remaining.
The Redskins could’ve stockpiled more Day Three picks but liked Cravens and Fuller too much to trade down.
