KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Bringing help to an aging offensive line, the Kansas City Chiefs have selected guard Rodney Hudson of Florida State with their first pick in the second round.
The 6-2, 290-pound Hudson has played both guard and center, positions where the Chiefs are in need of youth. Last year’s starting center, Casey Wiegmann, is known to be contemplating retirement.
As the result of a trade with Cleveland on Thursday night, the Chiefs also had a pick later in the third round. With their first-round pick on Thursday, they addressed a gaping need and went for Jonathan Baldwin, a 6-4 wide receiver from Pittsburgh.
