HOUSTON (AP) -Offensive lineman Fred Weary has agreed in principle to a one-year deal to return to the Houston Texans, his agent said Tuesday.
Weary started 12 games for Houston last season before breaking his leg in a loss to Tennessee. He is one of five players from Houston’s inaugural 2002 season who remains on the roster.
“We’re excited for Fred to be back in the fold,” Pat Dye, Weary’s agent, told Houston television station KRIV.
Weary has sued two police officers and the city for a 2006 arrest in which he was shot with a Taser gun during a traffic stop. The case, filed in November, is pending.
