BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Browns draft pick Barkevious Mingo's mom didn't want him to play football. Now she's proud of her little boy who ``likes to eat quarterbacks.''
Mingo, the LSU linebacker taken with the No. 6 overall pick by Cleveland in the first round of the NFL draft, was introduced Friday at a news conference at the team's headquarters. Mingo recalled how his mother, Barbara, kept he and his brothers from playing contact sports because she was afraid they would get hurt.
She finally relented and learned quickly she had nothing to worry about - her son was the one inflicting pain.
Mingo, who will wear No. 51 for the Browns, is excited about playing in the pros and ``can't wait to get to work.''
