NEW YORK (AP) -The New York Jets have traded up to the first spot of the third round of the NFL draft to select Iowa running back Shonn Greene.
Just as they made an impact by moving up to get Southern California quarterback Mark Sanchez with the fifth overall pick on Saturday, the Jets were active quickly on Sunday, dealing with Detroit. It was their first selection since taking Sanchez.
The Jets sent a third-rounder, a fourth-rounder and a seventh-rounder to the Lions.
Greene rushed for more than 100 yards in all 13 games last season, finishing with 1,850 yards and 20 touchdowns in his one season as a regular.
