ASHBURN, Va. (AP) – Robert Griffin III is feeling refreshed after a year of confusion under Mike Shanahan.
Griffin spoke Friday of the positive vibes he had with new Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden and reflected on some of the mishaps from last year’s 3-13 season.
Griffin said he always did everything Shanahan asked, although the two weren’t always on the same page. Griffin said at one point he started holding his news conferences after Shanahan to keep the two from contradicting each other.
Griffin also defended his relationship with owner Dan Snyder. Said Griffin: ”Dan never meddled. My relationship with him is exactly the way it was before. … It was unfortunate what happened, and how he was portrayed last year – along with a lot of guys on the team.”
