ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -Penn State defensive end Aaron Maybin was selected by the Buffalo Bills with the No. 11 pick in the NFL Draft, joining a team keen on bolstering its pass rush.
Listed at 6-foot-4, 248 pounds, Maybin was a late bloomer with the Nittany Lions, getting the most out his junior season last year in which he didn’t become a starter until three games in. Maybin still wound up leading the Big 10 with 12 sacks in 10 starts.
The Bills, coming off their third straight 7-9 finish, struggled in applying pressure, especially after starter Aaron Schobel missed the final 11 games with a foot injury. Buffalo managed just 14 sacks in its final 12 games, and finished with 24, tied with Washington for fifth-fewest in the NFL last season.
